Product Information

“Cedar Fence Co.: I’ve never felt the need to write anyone after receiving a service, but I just wanted you to let you know, that from your salesman to the two installers who installed my deck, they did a great job. The deck looks great and it was done when you said it would be. I’m very pleased with it and figure it was money well spent. Thanks again.” - G.H.

Trex Gate Adjustments

July 11, 2011

The following video and written instructions below will help you maintain your Trex gate over its life.

Over time with normal use and wear, gates will need to be adjusted. Our patent pending hinges for Trex gates make adjustments easy for any owner to quickly and correctly make the necessary changes.  CFC team member Randy Zabriskie will guide you through the how-to for your gate adjustment. Please watch the video and read the written instructions below.

Adjustment Instructions

Trex Gate Adjustments After gates have been properly installed minor adjustments may be required. Trex is a composite material that will expand and contract which may cause the latch not to close properly. However, hardware designed specifically for Trex gates allows for easy adjustment. The only tool needed is a crescent wrench large enough to fit over the 11/16” sliver nuts on the hinge bolt that connect the gate side and post side hinge parts. To raise the gate panels, loosen the nut on the post side and tighten the nut on the gate side.  To lower the gate panels loosen the nut on the gate side and tighten the nut on the post side. When you make the adjustments, both the top and bottom will need to be modified as directed.
