Ranch Style Rail Fencing

The Rail style is an open space fence. This sturdy fence is popular for perimeter fencing to contain horses or livestock where privacy is not needed and a more finished look is preferred over split rail or log pole.

Materials needed per 8' section of fence

• All cedar lumber
• (1) Post: 6”x6”x7’ or 8’ (with flat, beveled or gothic post top)
• (2+) Rails: 2"x6”x8’ or 2x8”x8’ (rails are typically face nailed)
